A couple of nickels

Nice! How did you do the oval dots? I didn't know there is such a thing as an oval beading tool. Or... did you make one some how?

Doc, Yes I just took a beading tool and flattened it off and re cut the shape with a carbide burr. Also I did both these nickels with my new handpieces. I hammer all the backgrounds flat. the slow striking speed allows me to do most of the smoothing of the facial; features as well. It makes this material act like clay.

let me say that I just don't 'get' the concept of hobo nickels (everybody can't like everything, right?), but these are definitely two of the nicest ones I've ever seen. well done, Chris!

Thanks to all for your kind comments. Les after your comment and taking another look I will do some shading on the gold so it appears different . It is Her shirt , blouse whatever they were called then. I appreciate your pointing that out.
