Bruce, You bring up an interesting point that I have often wondered about. Collectors are so concerned with "Factory Engraving". Don't they know that almost all the top engraving is done by outside contractors and only the house lower cost pieces are generally done in-house and rarely by a single engraver. Why would having the factory act as middleman and marking up the price to boot make the gun or knife more collectable and have a higher resale value? Fred
No, Fred, most don't know. I'm not sure when or where the "factory engraved" category got its mystique, but it is firmly in the psyche of the collecting frat now. As to the other category, I guess bad gets more attention than good.
