Customer wants this style lighter engraved. http://www.amazon.com/Zippo-121FB-Lighter-Antique-Silver/dp/B000EN4G8K.... Do any of my fellow engravers here know how this one engraves?

Personally, I would only engrave an unplated solid brass or sterling silver zippo. I'm guessing the one shown is plated, and possible brushed chrome. Or silver plating over chrome.

It is likly to chip the plating around the edges of your cuts, Beware.
i just finished 3 zippos this week. 2 were real brass, 1 was chromed. the reall brass ones engraved nicely by hand. the chromed one i did on my pantograph. anything that's plated, can chip or flake away from the cutline. it's a coin toss if it will turn out ok. contact the zippo company. i'm sure they would give you info concerning this model lighter.
Yes, you should beware of the chipping, but I've done a few chrome Zippos and they seem to have very good plating, so I haven't had any problems with them / http://www.viljomarrandi.com/2009/12/dodge-zippo-engraving/
