What is a common price to charge per hand engraved letter?

Greetings All,

Are there any professional engravers on this forum? :just kidding:

I'm just curious what you all charge per character for the standard typeface styles (script/block..etc...). This would be for characters less than about 3/8" tall and on a flat surface.

If you wish to elaborate on what you would charge for larger or smaller characters on different surfaces... it would only benefit and give more enlightenment!

I charge $7 per letter and the customer has to sign a waiver because I can't spel.

I tell people any where from $7-10/letter, but balance that with a basic charge of about $50 for the first 6-7 letters, the difficulty in the project, and how badly I need the money. Sometimes I just throw a ballpark figure out to get the job. Currently I have 2 polished horseshoes to cut three 4 letter (nice ones) words in each. I bid $100 for both, and should be able to do both in about 2 1/2 hrs.

With Sam's easy to use corel draw lettering for engravers ect. it aught to go pretty quick!!!!

We reserve the right to requote (upon receiving an item)
any estimates given on unseen items such as phone or email quotes.
In most cases punctuation is not charged for.

Roman Block per letter;

Lower case $5.00 $6.00 $7.00

Rings 10mm and wider are an extra $1.00 or more per letter.

PENDANT BACKS script or Roman block
Gold $5.00 for each capitol, $4.00 for each lowercase letter.
Silver $4.00 per capitol, $3.00 per lowercase each letter
Platinum $6.00 per capitol and $5.00 per lower case each letter

ROMAN BLOCK ON THE OUTSIDE OF A DIE STRUCK WEDDING BAND:
6 mm band with 4 mm tall capitols $16.00 each; lowercase $12.00 each.
Band width may affect cost, please inquire for other sizes.
Hebrew or Arabic on the outside of a 6mm ring is $16.00 per letter.
