Ugly as hel but fun to do...:-)

This is not my favorite style but still i liked doing it. It is always fun to try something you never did before and i am quit happy with the result. Pendant is 18kt gold with custumor's diamonds and pearl. size is 4cm.
I made it out of wax sheet 0.8mm and then cast it. after casting i made the settings, setted them, then drilled holes in the surface and soldered them in.

Sometimes you Just gotta do what custumor asks you to do... it pays the bills.

I call this 'broebels" in Dutch, but not to customers. You are right those pay the bills. I"m making them for 30 years and customers still like them.

I like this type of work and I know customers do, they see it often as modern art, we should leave them in that delusion...

Willem, you are right, that is why Broebels is an insiders name for this kind of jewelery.
If you think about it, it all is a bit of illusion. Sometimes frustrating that the ugliest jewel in your window is sold first.
Of course the customer always is right.

This one I even made a mold of it, sold it probably over 20 times, didn't count them.

just because something is unusual is no reason to say it has lesser value than an item with a more traditional look to it. some would say this is just a "doodle" in gold. that's ok- they just look with different eyes than i do.
