Hi Tom

Yes, that is starting to take shape and your leaves are looking good.

I've attached something for you to think about.

With the leaves.....try and detach the top half a bit more from the scroll backbone. This will help define them a lot better.

If you think of a real plant....the base of the leaf grows out from the main stem. Not sure if my gardening terminology is correct but hopefully you get the idea :)

Some good looking work. Im working out the kinks as well with design and drawing. I don't know If Andrew has mentioned it or not. But the tip of the leaf need to touch or almost touch the backbone above it.
Why it breaks up the negative space. Makes the amount of negative space seam smaller. Gives a better flow and shape to the scroll.

Thanks Andrew It does seam to make the leaves stand out and flow better the way you drew it. The last post I made you referenced a Ron Smith but I don't think it is the one I have. I will keep up the drawing practice.
