I would darken the ¨cat¨a little bit more in some part of the nose, the ears and the breast, but I presume it isn´t ready yet.
The squares, I find them a little flat, you could make some cuts to the center. (maybe only 4)
Just my 2 cents.
Your cat is floating. He needs to have a suggestion of rock, grass, shadow, something to weight him down. And then some darker shadows on his body to give him some contour. Nice start, just keep going!
I think also,which may have been implied by Sandra,the suggestion of an light source direction.
Which will be accomplished with selective shadowing.

This isn't going to be much help for this piece...
But, for future work, try to avoid 'lining' the edges of your image with a solid line. (the cat)
If you want to mark out the main drawing, I'd suggest using dots instead.
Lines make it looks too cartoon'y'. Dots will allow you to build up contrast and texture, to your desired finish.
