Sterling Silver American Avocet

First post with a photo. Just recently completed this as a competition entry
for The Reflections of Nature art show ( Saskatoon Saskatchewan Canada) . Made from sterling silver and plated 24k the body is hollow cast in two sections with beak and legs fabricated from bar stock. The feather are cut with a 116 and 85 bulino graver using a lindsay classic and a NSK presto.The base is spalted maple and walnut.

very beautiful sculpure, did you make the casted parts first in wax?
What is the real size?

I caved a wax model it measures 100mm long -56mm high and 43.1 grams
