Shawn's knot would come undone, still looks cool, but don't try to tie it in a rope when hanging of a cliff

Nice sketch but the one thing that socks me in the eye is that leaf which seems to go against the flow. I wouldn't go so far as to say it was wrong because it's not. I can't decide whether it's going to look right when its cut and shaded or not but it's a very interesting design. Personally, I like it and would like to see what it looks like in a finished state.

balance is a huge factor but for me getting caught in the story of these scrolls is cool stuff.
as I study these drawings for errors or areas of improvement I find that the knots really are fun to look at
