Question: sculpting

I have been wanting to ask. But how do you sculpt metal to make it look smooth and rounded? What tools are needed?

Hi Jared.
gesswein.com can be interesting website for you, you can find all differant types of grinding stones to smooth the metal.
i'm gonna order a few for myself to

Sculpting is done with different shaped punches in your handpiece (or chissel holder) and smoothing is often done with Gesswein stones, but these stones are available on many sites, for instance the site of Chris ( DeCammillis).

weldon lister & others have posted very good foto/text tutorials on this very form of engraving. check the tips section, you'll find lots of great info there. a very recent post by weldon shows the sculpting of oak leaf. very interesting to look at.
