Hi all. I have just come to rhodium plate some jewellery I have completed and the built in rectifier has given up. I should have got it sorted before now because it has been tempremental for a while. As a quick fix does anybody know if an old ac to dc adapter/charger supplying 5v dc and around 500mA will work and of course is safe to do. I've got to get this job done ASAP. If there is anybody with electrical knowledge or anybody with relevant knowledge of this please let me know your thoughts. I will post piccies as soon as I have completed the last stage of finishing.
Thank you for any help you give.

if you check all your used "wall warts", you may find one with the correct output. i've used them a few times. if the output is correct, they can do a job as good as a high-priced power supply. usually the output in volts and miliamps/hr. can be found in fine print right on the unit. if you find one with the right output, cut off the end of the wire. you can check + or - with a small multimeter.
