your work belongs in the "engravers' hall of fame" ! the body of work you have amassed over time is simply amazing. the work you do on the animals is the most amazing part of that work. the fact that you so willingly share is appreciated by all who choose to lurk here. tyvm
I used to make lots of pulls/rubbings at one time, they take a while to do as sometimes they don't turn out quite right but when they do they look great and shows off all the work line by line.
Thank you Phil for posting these, they are great study pieces on line work. The Brittany and Rhino are clear and close enough to see the amount of detail involved and the nuances of the cuts.
Pulls are when the paper is pushed into the cuts and pull the ink, a print takes the ink from the surface, if you ink up an engraving and print from it the paper will pick up the surface ink and leave the cuts white so this is negative, the same with a smoke rubbing.
