I assume the gun does not have side plates now and you are wanting to put them on?
It's not as easy as it sounds. Usually, false side plates are made for a gun to fit the particular action. Then it requires a lot of machining on both the action and the stock.
Don't get me wrong, it can be done and I have done several guns fitted with side plates but it was usually done when the customer wanted new wood as well.
