if your budget is really annorexic, you can make a lot of your own tools to get started in push graving or hammer & chisel work. check thru the tips section. lots of info there. also check the forum classified section. you may find some startup stuff there. if you have a couple old needle files, i can instruct you how to configure them into gravers, and follow-up heat treating to make them suitable for engraving.

I think you'd be much better off putting that money toward a GraverSmith system instead of the System 3 as it's a much better choice.
