You could not have choosen a better tool to do that lovely work on! A good part of my work involves wood and I love Lie Neilsen. What a great project and excellent work.
How is it to engrave? I would think it'd be rock hard. Just wondering for when I can add my low angle jack plane to my project list (like we ever get to do work for ourselves... LOL).
That is nice work! Thanks for showing your work. I have always enjoyed seeing your work and been to your web web site. As a beginner I tried doing a newer Stanley Plane. Being cast steel it didn't cut to bad. The chips doesn't seem to flow as nice as regular steel. I noticed on the 4th picture you engraved the part that holds the blade down. How hard was was to engrave? The Stanley I did, that part you couldn't even put a file across it so I didn't even bother.
