inlay and recoil

I have been trying to use google to answer any questions my mind comes up with but it appears my googlefu is weak.
I own a couple of barrels and pistols made by Gary Reeder. Some have silver and some have gold inlays in the writing or a band around the cylinder. Thing is its a powder according to Gary and it seems the recoil blast can knock it out.

Does this happen with wire inlay?

Will not happen with well done inlay. The powder is actual bronze dust protected by lacquer. It is available at brownells, midway usa, and Forster products.

I agree with Beat.
Generally speaking, corrosion is the thing that causes gold inlay to fall out.
