What is truly going on with GRS and the EU compliance we have GRS /Gesswien and Rio Grande all saying they can’t supply direct to the EU on their web sites Yet Otto Frei are happy to supply direct with NO mention of UE compliancy of engraving equipment on their web site and also the power hone has no warning of compliance and also as I understand it the EN-SET is fully compliant with all the EU as well as other countries rules why has the GRS units suddenly become non compliant and needs changing when they have been sold around the world for some years now.
Is the a precursor to price increases for the EU market closing the doors on free trading standards between countries and changing the rules to restrict or make it harder for NON U.S engravers to gain access to them or is it a secret club that has now been formed or as I said in the other post on this is this whole deal just the EU dealers getting in a twist because people have been buying direct from the US and they aren’t getting their slice of the cake.
Are we getting had over this side of the pond it would be nice to hear from someone in the U.S that is in the know reference this subject as to whom and why this all came about and why the units became non compliant and is there a safety issue with existing GRS product that have been purchased here and in other counties, some true to this may help those who are thinking of making a purchase.

Hi Ray

You seem to have a bee in your bonnet about this or someone is winding you up for some reason. ............ so why don't you go to GRS and ask these questions. All you are going to get from forum members is opinions which mean very little in the world of commerce and international trade law. Of which, none of us know anything about.

The facts are. You can buy GRS product in EU countries. You get full warranties, servicing and all the rest of it. There have also been absolutely no issues with safety. If they happen to have a different part number, so what?? That is absolutely normal with all international goods.

What you have written is part mischief, part rambling and part conspiracy theory. Perhaps you want to engage a EU specialist lawyer on all this and at the same time get all the relevant paperwork/certifications etc etc for the Enset, Lindsay, Ngraver, Foredom impact tool and all the rest of the manufactures that provide jewellery, engraving and stone setting equipment..............Otherwise it is all just their word for it and hearsay in the absence of actual proof.

If you want more information then go directly to GRS........... Everything else is pure speculation which is not the purpose of the forum.

Cheers
Andrew

If you go to the www.grstools.com site, there is a link right on the front page to a page explaining the change. It's clear as a bell, right under the "What's new at GRS" heading. First link in the page.

It really seems odd how certain members here, willingly living under socialist governments, seem to be making such a big deal out of hurdle a free enterprise must meet to do business in their country. This change has been imposed by the very people your countries have elected to govern your land.

I'm assuming that Gesswein and Rio Grande are some of the largest resellers of GRS equipment. Being such, I'm sure they make a point of knowing the rules and regulations as fast as they are made available.

Can we end this self serving "witch hunt" now??
