Has anyone else had delamination issue? I just noticed it tonight. It’s my 1200 wheel, and a year old now. I am a hobby engraver and dont do it full time, so its wear is not that much. I was just curious, so i figured I’d ask. I hope everyone is well, happy, and healthy.

Thank you.

those are made by a plating process and it appears the nickel(?) & diamond layer is peeling off the copper underlayer. and no, i've never seen or heard of one doing that. i'd suggest politely asking the manufacturer for a replacement...

do you use it wet or dry / shouldn't make a difference. i have always lubed mine with a bit of drugstore mineral oil. cleaned with common toothbrush and some wd 40/ never an issue for me. grs is known for quality, but now and then, a booger gets out the door.

I appreciate y’all responses. I totally understand manufacturing defects occasionally happen. I’m not mad or even irritated. I was just curious if anyone else has seen this or had this happen. My grs sales rep said she’ll get it taken care of for me.
I always grind dry, wash the plates when needed. Thank you again. I hope everyone is happy and healthy is these wild times.

do you have a wobble in the rotation to create a high spot please? Could be an indication of a bad top bearing.
