GRS belt buckle resolder question

Well we were able turn the buckle hardware around, by "me" I mean Brian Marshall. He first coated everything with boric acid and alcohol, burned off the alcohol to leave a coating on the metal. Then heat everything slowly till it releases, turn over and resolder. No discolorizationn, no damage to Sounds simple but I was sure glad to have someone there who knew how to do it. I tried uploading pix, hope it works.
