I was drawing some silver and copper wire dowm today for a practice plate
and in the past I had used beeswax for lube but today I decided to try something
I had some case forming lube where I had been reforming some rifle cases, with a
light coating on my fingers I pulled the wire thru my finger to lube them and then
pulled it thru the draw plate and to me it seemed to pull alot easierand I also tried a
different brand and applied it the same way. The one that I liked the best is called S.T.O.S.
and the other brand is called Imperial Die Wax. The S.T.O.S. cleans up with water.
You can get at most gun stores thea caters to reloaders.

wire lube

I don't think the rcbs lube will be as good the S.T.O.S. seems to work the best and it
cleans up with water.
Brain I have taken it down to .010 , and have you had any of your inlays shoot loose
with your method of inlay? I have been wondering how it will tolerate heavy recoil

Bob, Thanks for the drawing info....I'm having trouble getting my wire past .012", but I don't usually inlay anything that thin, either.

As far as losing inlay----no, I haven't had anything come back to me and I haven't had anyone tell me that it has come out. I guess that means "So far, so good".
