Hi folks,

Here's a William Henry that I'm almost done with! My selection of design was influenced by the mastodon tooth used for the scales. This straight-on shot makes it hard to tell but, the oak leaves are deep relief, carved. First I cut the outline using chisels, do the background relief, then the leaves & scroll elements are shaped with chislets (RIP Phillipe) and lastly, 24K gold wire inlayed for the veins. Not the best photo but, you get the idea!

Thanks & have a great Memorial Day holiday,

Weldon

Added a couple more pics of deep relief carving on a series of five. Enjoy,
WL
