I've heard stories of the big high end 3D printers jamming up and the resin hardening inside. With some of those machines a resin reservoir can hold tens of thousands of dollars worth of material.

In the jewelry business there are about 4 low cost (under $20k) machines currently on the market. These machines are selling from $3k up. I'm not really crazy about the quality of the prints coming off any of them, but that's because I come from using CNC mills to make my models. I'm currently running 4 of them for my custom jewelry manufacturing. The surface quality of the print vs cnc just isn't good enough yet to justify the purchase for me. Plus there's quite a lot of issues still being worked out on using the machines for jewelry.

Just my 2 cents.
