Question: 17-4PH stainless steel

I have a potential knife job and the frame is made of 17-4PH stainless steel. Is this a "run away as fast as you can" hard material or is it something that I can work with?

ive got some of this at home ill check for you. i use it for liners in folding knives. not tried engraving any yet. it does cut and file easily enough though.

Before it's heat treated it will cut just fine.

my scraps cut just fine last night. as tim mentioned they were not heat treated.

I don't think the parts I am to work on are heat treated so I guess I will give it a go.
