Over the last few years (since my last computer crash) I have accumulated quit a lot of links. Many are engraving related of course. I hope that you find them informative and useful. Many are suppliers or provide an educational component. I have checked each to make sure they are all still valid. I have added a very brief explanation of each. If you have links to share please add to the list. Thanks-there are quit a few, I hope you find something new-Fred

One link that no long works is the Hand Engravers Guild International. When I attempted to access it it informs that the project has been discontinued.

Thanks, Fred. I've added your list to the Tips Archive.

Shame about the Hand Engravers Guild International. I was hoping to see that take flight.

I was wondering what happened to the guild. Seems like it just ground to a halt, looks like those of us who put up our money to get it going can just wave goodbye to it. Not even an email to us in explanation, very bad. Just took our money and then kept us in the dark, it feels like a bit of a rip off. The website never went anywhere, it just went online half finished and nothing else was ever done to it. At the very least this should have been completed and it would have attracted more and more interest. It looks like someone's enthusiasm died very quickly. Very disappointing. :(

With respect to that new guild .... before any assumptions snowball on a public forum (kinda like unsolicited critiquing :)) ..... it should be noted that the organizers of that proposed new guild went through a pretty bad bankruptcy. The organizer had almost $10,000 of his own money invested (3 times the total donations received) .... hopefully someone will pick up the ball as a great amount of the work has already been done.

Good day.

I never considered it a ripoff and I gave a no-strings-attached contribution. Maybe one day it'll fly again.

Anyway...I'm at fault for diverting this thread to a discussion other than Fred's generous posting of engraving links. Sorry, Fred!

Yip....and it should stay dead.

Carlos, I know you are new to this and enthusiastic............. but like tool wars and all the rest of the garbage, this is just licking over old wounds and resurfacing of bad memories from the past.

Let sleeping dogs lie and leave it at that.

Cheers
Andrew
