I made this little "locket" with British One Penny coins. I cut the center from a couple of the coins, soldered it all together. I used neodymium magnets to keep the lid securely closed. Thanks for looking

The coins are bronze, I used some old plumbing solder that I had laying around, nothing special. It actually worked really well. The hinge is copper tubing and copper wire.

I had also made a smaller example of this locket by using Lincoln cents. I attached a leather cord to it to use as a necklace, it sold on ebay yesterday. Thanks to everyone for checking out my work!

I drilled deep enough that when the magnets were placed in the hole they would be flush with the surface. I just added a little Loctite super glue in the hole before placing the magnet in it and it holds great.
