Thanks for posting these items I enjoy viewing engraving,s of yesteryear, were these used as seal's or perhaps stamps? From time to time I discover items engraved when out metal detecting the oldest being a La Tene broach in the form of a leaf with the veins of the leaf engraved on to it, thanks again for showing your scrimshaw. If I am correct these are home made fishing floats. A lot classier than the red and white plastic bobs used today. If I recall quit common in the yesteryear but rare today in the US. -Fred
