Not only is that incredibly clever, it's even beautifully decorated! :thumbs up:

So, you simply narrowed the ends of the latch so you could fit on the bearings, put the tap through the hole at the other end and use the thumb screw to secure it in place, correct?

Now all you have to do is make some 'length gauges' like the ones used with the Lindsay template based system. Figure out how far the graver blank sticks for various (face) angles and then cut some pieces of soda straw to match.

I put (face) in parenthesis because it occurs to me that the screw knob means you can can rotate the tap holding the graver blank so you can shape the graver as you wish - sort of like a GRS Dual Angle fixture. Have you added index marks on the tap and face of the latch?

On the one hand, it's a shame that you're forced to improvise so many of your tools.

On the other hand, you do it so well!

Hi Steve

Hi Steve!
Despite the Primitive Construction, all the Faces are Rather Harsh!
In manufacturing, I have not Spent a single Dollar
all - it's old Parts of the Box where I keep all sorts of little things that can be useful for the Home.

I like to improvise!
Engraving for me - it's a Hobby! Rest for the Soul!

When do I get a sufficient number of Professional Skills,
Only then I will be ready for Serious Investment!

Much looks funny, People who buy a Set of Equipment for Huge Money.
But in this case, the maximum that they do on - is the Coin with an Indian (the Hobo Nickel)!

But seriously, I am pleased that You liked My Post!:beerchug:

Good Luck!

Hi Peter!

Hi Peter!

Thanks for a pleasant response!
Philosophy about which you speak простаая!

If I buy the car «FIA Formula One» it doesn't mean that I will operate
As Michael Schumacher!
Сначало it is necessary to learn to operate «Volkswagen Beetle»!

If I buy all that is on a firm site «GRS Tools»
It doesn't mean that I am the master of the Engraving!

Сначало it is necessary to learn to work as the traditional tool.
And having achieved good results to do the big investments of means!

Well it I so think!
I am probably wrong?

Good luck to You!

Ingenious indeed Eric!
And you are not wrong, you may have the finest guitar in the world but, unless you learn how to play it properly. You will not make music.
