A single point background trick.
Sometimes you just need something different. I use this background treatment for speed....(and when the commission isn't so fat)
Simply use a 120 graver and cut the background in decorative patterns.
The overlapping cuts actually lower the background too.
The first picture is a "naked eye" view of the work.
The second picture was taken through the microscope lens.
I would like to take credit for this, but I learned it from Ron Smith and Barry Lee Hands.
