Here's a shot of a buckle I did for Christmas.

Deep relief cut into sterling silver (2"x3")

Lots of work cutting the background away!!

I really like the style of scrolls you used on this...a combination of leather and steel...outstanding...

With that much background to remove it looks like it would have been a good time to use a rotary, just to knock the larger areas down before you did the cleanup with flats.
