there was a time when i was rather skilled at oil painting portraits, live models or fotos.i tried the caricature style, by request from more than 1 person. total- abject disaster. doing caricature is an artform all its' own. the greatest problem, the final result must be instantly recognized. this is done by exagerating 1 or 2 prominent physical features in a persons' face. this is quite easily done, but then there was this pesky problem of recognizing the victom once the portrait was finished.
