Have any of you in your studies read a book called "Hand Book of Letter and Ornamental Engraving on Metal" by Cellini, jr?

When I started engraving I bought this book, which is written in 1896. I read some of it, then put it on my shelf. I didn't understand half of it.

Today I grabbed it down from the shelf, and read in it again. I was a amazed to say the least, at the content of this book!

I've been looking for a good handbook on lettering, and I've had this lying around all along! It's written at the time when hand engraving plates for printing was common, but the machines were starting to emerge. The perspective given by mr. Cellini is very interesting.

I would recommend looking for it in your search for more knowledge in the art of lettering!
