Compressor Q

I have a line on a used silentaire mini compressor.
It is from a tattoo shop. From what I have seen, most engraving compressors have a 5 gallon tank. It is posted as a oil-less system, 120 PSI at 7.5 CF/M.

I think it must have a 1-2 gallon tank because the whole unit is in a square box.

Can anyone tell me if it would be sufficient for a gravermax?

Thanks!

Eric, get a compressor with a large tank. Whilst the delivery pressures might be adequate what you don't want is the compressor cycling every few minutes or constantly. I used to have a small Bambi unit and it was on every 4-5 minutes. In the summer it would run so hot that it would cut out. Now I have a large Sil-Air compressor (the donut type) it tops up the pressure about 4 times an hour on average.

Eric,
If the price is really right you might consider adding a seperate air tank with a one way feed to it.
You can buy a 5Gal. tank from Harbor Freight. They go on sale for about $20.
They have a SS steel one for a few bucks more.

BTW, they also work to help the 5Gal. Sil-Air to cycle a lot less. Especially when using a rotary air tool for BG removal.
Just a thought.
