Quiet Compressor for less

I came across this on utube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hw5pTPjsIsY

Seems like ma lot of compressor for the money. The noise level isn't bad, it's not a silent air, but it's a quarter the price (239.00 usd) and the noise seems acceptable. Shouldn't run to often with a 4.6 gallon duel tank says it delivers 2.35 cfm at 90 psi and 3.8 at 40. 60 decibels sound. (60 decibels, equivalent to an air conditioner at twenty feet, conversation [at one meter], sewing machine, large transformer, ordinary or average street traffic.)

They have a 4610A at Wallmart as well aluminum tanks for 10 dollars more. Apparently you can only order them on line.
If anyone tries one let us know. I,m sure it can be returned if not satisfactory.

Chris

I bought one of these on your recommendation Chris. I was pleasantly surprised how quite it really is. I wanted a backup compressor. As it turns out this will be my main compressor and the other one can be back up. :big grin:

I bought this compressor because of it's quietness. I think it was around $170.
It's a Grip-Rite GR152CM. It hums along at 72 decibels...which is relatively silent compared to the Porter Cable I was using.

Can't beat the price. The only thing I see is that it has a lot of tank for the CFM and HP. May take a little long to fill the tanks. All and all looks like a nice little compressor for the money.

I have a couple Master Air Hush series super quiet compressors. About the same sound level they have a 2hp motor at 4.6cfm, 4gal tanks, It fills up the tanks from empty in about 90 seconds. I bought mine used for less than $150 each. Don't know were you could find them new though or how much they would be.

I ran across this one for only $30 more with more cfm and hp.

Mike,
I saw the youtube video comparing this one with two others right next to it. Someone asked the same question in the comments section below the video and here's the quote:

From Zero (0) PSI to 115 PSI it takes 125 seconds

It's hard to tell but it looks like the 4610A in the video. 2 minutes ain't bad for a 4 gallon tank, especially at that low noise level.
