I apologize if this is a very dumb question.....but here goes.....

Is there any reason one should not inlay copper or silver in brass?

Thanks in advance!

Should be no problem , since the brass is usually harder than anealed silver or copper. Also no problem with galvanic corrosion:thumbs up:

Jane,
No reason that I know about.
It can be a little difficult because the brass is often not much harder than the silver or copper.
It can be be a little tricky to get a punched up undercut. But you can just undercut with a knife graver in that case or even scrape in an undercut with a scribe.
Best of luck, please show it when it's done.

I will soon send up some pictures of copper inlayed
into copper!:beat up::beat up:

I made the channel deeper and burnished the channel
closed more than pounding the raised inlay into the base.

When I don't know any better anything is possible.
At less until I try it!
