Cheers Arnaud the encouragement helps :)
Somethings are clicking in place slowly, designing will be another story.

One thing at a time, just trying to get a couple of scrolls looking ok is my first goal.

The new version is looking pretty nice, I can see what you mean about the two small scrolls on the left. I be happy if I could cut one that nice.

I`ve re- sketched my simple practice with a few small tweaks...
Is it better or are there some things not correct ??

Quite enjoyed drawing this, almost as fun as the cutting :)

Also on an anatomical note, rose leaves have jagged edges in my garden, i`m not seeing much of that in some engraving?

Edit: I just noticed the little outside bits are wrong....

Last pic for the thread.
I tried palm pushing this on copper as i was low on air for the compressor.
Abit rough compared to the air tool, but maybe the idea is an improvement?

Length of "design" 20mm.

Thanks for the help so far :tiphat:

Edit: i spotted that silly error John, since then i recut again rectifying & tightening up parts that looked abit off.

Getting there, Chris.
But the outside work is going the wrong way. Devil's in the details.
And you need to close the cuts where the first leaf on the main scroll meets the originating bud.
