Hi friends

a few days ago a Spanish artisan 91 years of age (Alfredo Alvarez), presented me with two knives in miniature. The blades of the knives are silver, the handles of ivory and wood.
I made a deal with him and engraved a knife miniature ivory and silver. The result has been acceptable and show some pictures of simple engraving.

greetings

Antonio

Superb!
Many thanks for showing those, both knives & engraving are brilliant.
Are the knives recently made?
Something else if he is still making them at that age :)

Wow, that's really cool! How did you draw your resist on something so small?

Marcus Dear Friend:

the blade of the knife is sterling silver. Blade length 14 mm and a total length of 32 mm open.

Silver is a metal that is recorded or the "strong water", but it is hard to fine shading, because the acid greatly expanded the original lines of the drawing. But I'm pretty satisfied with this simple job.
To draw on a piece so small it requires a very fine pen and a steady hand in hand.

A hug and thanks for participating.:)

Hello
This craftsman is still working his 91 years and I've asked a few custom knives secret. I do not know how many I can do, but they may be about 2 or 3 blades.
These knives are recent.
Alfredo has finished miniature knives of various designs.

Amazing to be able to even comprehend working on anything at that age never mind so small knives.
Certainly a very talented & healthy man!
An inspiration to all crafts people for sure.:thumbs up:
