Roland,
Your scroll work is amazing. How do you go about laying something like that out on a receiver? Do you draw on the steel after coming up with your scroll design on paper?

Ditto Arnaud, beautiful as always. Those sections in the scrolls that look like movie film with the little squares, is that particular to Holland and Holland? I think that's the only place I've seen that particular treatment.

Alf, sometimes I draw with my pencil and wax directly on the steel and sometimes I make a drawing project who can serve to make a transfer with a transparency paper.
like on the following picture, here you can see the transfer design

Dave I don't know if it is specially for Holland&Holland but maybe by the engraver who work for Holland&Holland ;-)
