LOGIN PROBLEMS AND HOW TO RESOLVE THEM

Very important note!

NEW MEMBERS: Please submit your posts one time only, and give us time to approve them. You do not need to submit multiple times; it may just take us a little while to get to your posts. This only applies to your first three posts. After that, your posts will go online as soon as you submit them, without human intervention. We have implemented human moderation of new users' first three posts to prevent spamming of the forum. Thank you for your understanding.

1.) you must be a registered user to login.
2.) you must activate your account via the email that was sent to you when you registered. If you didn't receive the email, it could in your spam folder since some spam filters remove forum emails. Please look there first. If you can't find the activation email, contact Administrators for assistance and we'll get you registered.
3.) YOUR FIRST THREE POSTS go into a moderation queue and will not viewable by the public until approved by an Administrator. This can take up to 24hrs. Patience, please.

VIEWING PHOTOS

Can't view photos in the Cafe?

1.) you must be registered and activated your account via the email that was sent to you (see above).
2.) you must be logged-in or you can't view photos.
3.) If problems persist, read below STAYING LOGGED-IN. The problem is your browser's settings.

CHANGE OF EMAIL ADDRESS

If you change your email address via the User Control Panel, the Cafe sends you an email which requires your attention. If you ignore the email or didn't get it (check your spam folder first), contact Adminstrators for assistance.


PERMISSION PROBLEMS and/or STAYING LOGGED-IN

If you are a registered user and you receive a notice that says you don't have permission to post or view a photo, etc., the problem is your browser's security settings. Your account has NOT changed and you have NOT been penalized for something. We don't do that, and every member has the same privleges. See solution below.

If you are a registered user and have problems staying logged-in, the problem is not the forum, but your browser's settings. There are no forum software changes that will affect your ability to stay logged-in. The problem is your browser, not the Cafe. This can be annoying, and the solution below will fix the problem.

SOLUTION

1.) Clear your browser's history.
2.) Delete all offline content.
3.) Delete all cookies.
4.) Close and restart your browser.
5.) Be sure the REMEMBER ME? checkbox is checked when you log-in.

ADVICE

If you're using Internet Explorer and still have problems, get Firefox browser from www.mozilla.com
It's free and better than Internet Explorer anyway. Also, try Apple's Safari browser which now runs on Windows computers. Download from www.apple.com/safari I have not tried it but it has received many favorable reviews.

POSTING MESSAGES AND PHOTOS

If you're new to internet forums, this guide will get you up to speed quickly.



In forums, topics are called Threads, and members can start new threads by clicking the New Thread button, or reply to messages in existing threads by clicking the Reply button..




You'll then be presented with a mini word processor with many features. After typing your message click the Submit New Thread button at the bottom.

UPLOADING IMAGES
Want to post pictures? No problem! Click the Manage Attachments button to post pictures.
NOTE: THE FORUM WILL AUTOMATICALLY SCALE YOUR PHOTOS TO THE CORRECT SIZE. JUST POINT TO YOUR FILE AND UPLOAD. NO EXTERNAL EDITING IS REQUIRED.

You may see a thumbnail image of the photo you wish to upload here. If not, click ADD FILES button and navigate to the photo in your computer. After you've chosen a photo, you'll see the file name next to the Choose File button. Now click the Upload button to begin uploading your photo. Another option: If you have photos posted on a website, you may enter the URL of the photo in the Upload File From URL box (see next section).

When your photo has finished uploading you'll see it listed in the Attachments section (if you don't see it listed there, it has not uploaded and will not appear in your post). You can now click DONE and finish posting your message.

USING PHOTOBUCKET FREE IMAGE HOSTING for posting photos in the Cafe

1) go to www.photobucket.com or any other free host site.
2) Subscribe to the website
3) Login in to your account



4) Create an album for your images (left side of the web page)



5) Upload the images



6) Go to the folder where you have the files you want to upload



7) Once they are uploaded, go to the end of the page and return to your album



8) For every image, go and copy the IMG CODE (just left click over the img code area and it will copy the link for you)



9) Go to your post and paste the link (ctrl+v)



10) Preview the posting...



11) Now you should have the image as you want it.



12) Just repeat the process for the other files steps 8 and 9.

and remember that you can set up the base resolution of your images in photobucket at 800x600 (15" screen).
