I took an engraving class by Diane Scalese about 4 years ago, and I started engraving again a few months ago. The first ring:
I did a few months ago.
These are my ring blanks:

The blanks are aluminum tubing, polished, then cut to size.

This is the ring I made for my friend:

The ring turned out pretty well. I couldn't get the little hearts for the "i's" to turn out right. Other than that I'm pretty happy. And so is my friend!

Hi Emily. Welcome to the Cafe! I like the first one the best. When you cut the straight lines in the stars be sure to back-cut each line to make them an even thickness at both ends. I'm sure your friends are delighted to get hand engraved rings :)

Hi Emily,

Glad you are picking up the graver again!

Rings are a tricky job to cut, and aluminum brings it own challenges also.

A good new beginning!

keep after it!
