WELCOME Charles. You do great carving. I love dragons and those you showed are very nice. I would be happy to see a progress carving showing those.

Was that you that posted some carving in Phil Coggan's style on Bladeforums? The collection of chisels looks familiar:big grin:

Hello Charles, and welcome to our Cafe engraving family! Beautiful, deep carving in your photos, and I'm sure many members would like to know more about the process which appears to be different from the styles we are familiar with. Post photos and join the group. We are pleased to have you with us.

~Sam

Looks great and interesting.
As far as I know there is only one knife used in the Chinese kitchen, while in the west, we have a kitchen knife for almost every cut, sort like the assortment you use to cut metal.
That is quite amazing.

HI Charles!

HI Charles!
Charles, it is very pleasant to see you on this site!
Your works have fascinated мения!
I like culture of China!
In culture of China there is all — thousand-year traditions,
Refinement, refinement, it live!
Dynasties varied, the social system varied,
But thanks to the best representatives of the people!
The culture of China has remained,
Traditional crafts have remained and it is remarkable!

Yours faithfully to your creativity!
Both a wish of Prosperity to you and Heavenly Empire!

Eric,
Thanks so much, you must be a " China Tong ", means know well China.
In fact, dynastic change, peasant struggle, ethnic rivalry and war,we see the progress of civilization. but also we find there are too much good things has been utterly destroyed, lile some traditional crafts are missing.

Eric,Your country also is rich history and can boast a long tradition of excellence in every aspect of the arts. which all had considerable influence on the world culture.

I find this stuff amazing Charles. I'm sure you don't use all those chisels on every job, you probably have certain favorites. Is there a certain number of chisels you use on a "typical" job? Which ones do the majority of the work? Thanks for sharing this beautiful (and powerful) work with us. dg
