Let me show you my first scratches with my airgraver.
I've never had done much engravingwork, just a little playing with pushgravers.
But with an airgraver it's much more fun.
But there's still a long way to go.
Some of you might have seen them on Steve's forum but ik like to share them here to.

Willem

To be honest, these were plates i've done after a week working with the airgraver.
There are a couple I haven't showed, they are terrible but i will put them here to complete the picture.
I will do it tommorow.

Well like I promised I have tryed to get some more examples here to overview my very first steps, but I reached the maximum limit of attachments.
So there is just one more now and that was my very very first one.
A was able to borrow for two weeks a Lindsay airgraver from a colleague and friend of my and all the engraving is done within those two weeks except the apple, the bird and the borders.
I think those I have engraved within 4 or 5 weeks having my own airgraver.

Thank you all for your stimulating comment.
Willem

Willem,
You have some very nice plates here! It took me almost a year with a Gravermach to get that good. It must have taken me about 4 months just to get a point that worked well.
Keep on Cutting!

It took me a long time to get to that point. That is very good for first attempt in my opinion. Especially the lettering.

This looks excellent Willem, well done. I'll bet you had a good start having learned with the push gravers though? Air assistance certainly does make things a lot more fun as it gives one more time to concentrate on design rather than graver control.

Willem, you're doing very well. Congratulations! I especially like your lettering. It will be interesting to watch your progress with hand engraving, so please keep us posted. You're off to an excellent start. :thumbs up:
