Lee, I really like the hand with the cigar. It looks like it is coming right off the knife with the shadow behind it. Cool. :)

hmmm. i think that bar room floozie was winking at me ! the art just kind of morphs right into the theme on this piece !after looking closely, it seems to me this was perhaps intentionally a bit "underdone", if you will. esp the lady. look how closely she resembles a charcoal drawing ! marvelous, if you ask me.

Were the subjects from a picture or did you use real-life models?

I should jump on this and claim a self portrait except of course he's not quite handsome enough and the shoulders are a bit thin...................but those of you who know me would cry foul and the gal is almost as pretty as my wife. I found a couple of pictures to use as a general reference and changed as it suited me. I want to thank everyone for the kind comments. I believe this piece will be on John Young's table as he is the maker of the knife.

Hey, that's a beauty, Lee! Nice work. It looks pretty authentic and makes me wonder if you've been playing cards in the local saloons.

Sam,

I'm boycotting the local saloons until they start serving skim milk on the rocks. Sometimes you just have to play rough.:beerchug:
