I have been commissioned to engrave two miniature guns made by Uberti. One is a Walker Colt and the other is a Colt Single Action. The challenge is scaling down the scroll (tool configuration-heel angle degrees of 15°,20° or higher;tool angle of 80, 90°, or 120°; face angles of 45°, 50°, 55°, or 60°). The other challenge is holding these parts for engraving. I took down and reassembled the guns. That was easy. I will post pictures as I progress. Any feedback or information you have would be appreciated.

Thanks, Raul

Hello Raul.
Roger Sampson has engraved a lot of miniture firearms as you probably know.
He is a director of FEGA and you can probably post him PM message there.
Roger is a great guy and would share some insights I feel sure.
Just a thought.
Best of luck with the project.

Hi Raul. As John B said, Roger Sampson's the man when it comes to miniature gun engraving. I don't see him in the Cafe very often, but he's definitely the guy to talk to.

This was on Roger Sampson's table at FEGA with a hobo nickel above it for scale. I'll post that pic when I get home.

Raul.
If you go to the FEGA forum www.fega.com and click on Certified Professionals on the left side, scroll down to Roger Sampson, click and you will see his bio and contact information.
Roger is a great guy and willing to help good people.
He has done quite a bit of engraving teaching in the past.
Hope this helps and best of luck with your projects.
