I dug out my old Telecaster today, and remembered a thread we were talking about engraved pickguards. I did this one in about 1990. The pickgaurd is the standard, plastic laminated white-black-white. I just used push gravers to carve it down to the black layer. It was really hard trying to maintain a nice flow to the lines on that large of a scale and I notice it could still use some work in that area. I didn't want my initials to be too blaring, so I just sort of worked it into the overall design. Anyway, I always thought there could be a good market for this kind of thing......except that most musicians don't have the do-re-mi.
