Some time ago I posted this tutorial on the bits, buckles & spurs forum. I have not been as active lately as in the past but I thought I would post this here as I have had a few requests.

Draw guide lines and lightly scribe over.
Begin cutting center.
Result.
2nd cut. "V-cut"
Result.
Continue these 2 cuts simultaneously until center is completely filled. Take a single point graver and engrave a circle around the center cuts. 90 to 120 degree, whatever you find works best for you.
Result.
Begin cutting petal framework.
1st cut.
Result.
Begin cutting petal framework.
2nd cut.
Result.
Continue cutting petal framework.
First of two cuts to close and finish flower petal.
Result.
Second of two cuts to close and finish flower petal.
