Questions about gravers

I have been wondering about gravers and do they come in standard sizes,
or do they vary from manufactuer,and do they offer a chart on the different
width as in their flats.

Most all the companies that offer gravers have a list of sizes sizes & some will show you a size chart in their catalog. Showing the sizes is always a good thing because sometimes the numbering doesn't make too much sense! There are only a couple of places that actually make the tools so, there should be a high degree of consistency from the same tool maker whether the chisel is purchased from one place or another. Consistency between the different makers is another thing. I have used a whole bunch of chisels over the years but I have not paid that much attention to the size difference (if there was any). With the type work I do, pretty close has been good enough.
