What magnification do you recommend for engraving with a microscope? Are there any tricks for establishing graver depth entering the cut or is it more repetition and muscle memory? Thanks for any help in advance.

For general outlines I use around 4.5xto 6x for shading closer to 10X. As to the depth of cuts not very deep prrobally around 5 thou. Although I have never measured the depth. Practice, practice etc Dave

ONLY YOU WILL ANSWER THAT WHEN YOU BEGIN TO ENGRAVE. maybe i do it wrong, but i change power a lot, depending on what i'm cutting. i had that same concern when i began using a scope. you'll naturally adjust very likely to what's most comfortable for you.
