I have other oldies pics but i had to scan them.
i use the hand chisel for the animals, the ornement and the shadows are made with hammer and chisel .

Pierre Thats very nice. The scroll is beautifull and the shading is excellent.Your bulino work is great, the animals look alive and thats not easy to do.It looks like line tecnique is it? anyway its the kind of work that is never tiring to look at, so many subttle things there. Fantastic!!! Chris

thanks for the comments.
franck here is the tiger knife, i think it's this one you speak about.
Mr De Camilis, I used the line technic for the animals, about the ornement, it's a "nemschee"? style, Mr Delcour had a print book of the engraver and at course, we study this style.
have a good day

Hi Pierre ,

Very classical and very beautiful, both gun and knife.

Leon Mignon school provides great engravers :)
Chapeau Pierre, je suis amoureux du style de gravure belge.

Pierre,

I too love the Belgian style of engraving. Everything you have shown us here is first rate work. Could you please tell us your full name so we all know to whom belongs the credit for these wonderful engravings?

Jean,

Can you tell me why you refer to Pierre as "hat" (chapeau)? Is this some kind of French joking reference?

Thanks,

Roger

Hi Roger ,

It's an abbreviation for " Chapeau bas " something like "hats off" . Not a joke at all but a deference mark from a disciple to a master ;)

Jean,

Thanks for the explanation. I like to learn something every day.

Pierre,

As one who enjoys studying the history and personalities of gun engraving, your name is important to me. Thanks for answering my question.

Roger
