hi Chris .. thanks for the info .. i have used thermo lock and had problems with it so i am afraid to use it again .. i set a colt loading gate into it and after i was finished engraving it i couldn't get it out , i though i had lost this part for the colt . so i am afraid to set a very expensive knife into to it being afraid that i may damage the knife trying to remove it , i probably did some thing wrong .. ron p

A couple of suggestions for better luck with ThermoLock

1) Get the new fixture making block from GRS - it makes it easy to make a 'hinged' fixture that you can pry open

2) If all else fails, add a little heat. A low power heat gun, a 100 watt light bulb nearby, or an oven on its lowest setting will soften up the Thermoloc so you can extract your prize.
