This is a word of warning for the folks that have the Air Filter / Oil-Removal kit, P/N 004-579, in there air system. This is not a GRS problem, it is a Manufacturer problem.

On the bottom of the filter bowls, there is a Valve core installed to allow you to drain water and oil. This is where the problem is, that during manufacture, the valve core has been put in by a 600# gorilla. It puts to much stress on the plastic, and will act as a wedge over time, causes the bowl to split around the valve core.

The fix is easy, get a valve core tool, and unscrew the valve core. Reinstall finger tight, check for leaks with Windex.

Hi Powderhorn,

Thanks for the heads up on the filte setup. I have that unit, and will preform the fix You talked about. Thats a pricey little unit, and I would hate to have it break.

Best Wishes,
JT
